More about Me

Hi, I’m Taya, a designer who bridges creativity, technology, and psychology to craft intuitive, user-centered experiences. Outside of work, I’m a Dungeon Master who thrives on creating immersive worlds—both in games and in design. Let’s explore what I’ve built.

Education

2013 - 2017

Associate's Degree in Computer Science
@ College of Computer Tech.

Odesa, Ukraine

2017 - 2020

Bachelor of Arts: Graphic Design
@ Collegium Da Vinci

Poznan, Poland

My journey started with computer science and software development, driven by curiosity to understand how things work from the ground up. But it wasn’t long before I realized my passion lay in making technology more human.

This curiosity led me to design school in Poland, where I discovered the joy of solving challenges creatively, using everything from paints and paper to pixels and sound.

Fun
Facts

  • I crochet quirky hats that reflect my inner world—bold, creative, and a little unconventional.

  • Dungeons & Dragons is my playground for creativity, where I create characters, worlds, and stories that inspire my work.

Overall Work Experience

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—freelancer, agency designer, and sole creative lead. Freelancing taught me self-discipline, communication, and the art of asking the right questions to help clients clarify their goals. Working in an agency refined my processes and gave me a passion for balancing user needs, business goals, and creativity.

Work

2016 - 2020

Outdoor Ads & Printing Studio

2020 - 2022

Freelance Designer

2020 - 2022

Agency Designer

My design journey began with outdoor advertisements and printing projects. I collaborated with clients, supported by an experienced manager, to create impactful solutions like signs, menus, and overall branding for their stands. This role taught me the art of balancing client needs with creative freedom while exploring materials and design possibilities. It was an early introduction to problem-solving and delivering designs that truly worked for people.

Freelancing was like a crash course in creativity and business. Over two years, I delivered more than 200 projects to clients from 20+ countries. I wore many hats: designer, manager, communicator, and strategist. One standout project was designing a retro-inspired website for vintage game consoles, which allowed me to combine my love for design and nostalgia. This experience sharpened my self-discipline and taught me how to manage high-pressure workloads while maintaining quality.

As the sole designer at my agency, I embraced the challenge of creating everything from websites to video ads. I refined processes, prioritized tasks, and balanced business, user, and creative goals seamlessly. One of my favorite projects was designing a platform for a volunteer vet clinic, which felt incredibly rewarding. This role solidified my ability to handle diverse design needs while focusing on impact and efficiency.

The Next Chapter: Product Design

Why am I transitioning into product design?

I want to work on one product, continuously improving it, solving user problems, and seeing the real-world impact of my work. In freelance and agency roles, I often handed off projects without knowing how they evolved. Now, I’m looking for the challenge of balancing user needs, business goals, and great design over time.

Interesting Facts #2

  • I’ve worked on projects that surprised me, like a website for a retro game store designed to feel like a console itself.

  • My favorite design tool? Figma. But my true tools are empathy and curiosity—getting to know users’ lives and how they interact with products.

Thank you for your attention!
